Duties and Responsibilities: Update Division/Office significant process inventory and Risk and Control Matrices (RCM's) Develop test plans Assess the design of relevant controls Test the effectiveness of relevant controls Document and evaluate test results Complete documentation of the assessment methodology and key processes such that the reader can acquire an understanding of the controls surrounding the process affecting internal control over operation Document Corrective Action Plans Identify areas in which process/controls can be improved Conduct risk interviews and/or working sessions and deliver management assurance (MA) and internal controls trainings as needed Execute quality assurance plan for all MA deliverables for all Divisions/Offices (e.g. QA of RCMs, testing, MA statements etc.) Service as internal controls specialist with process owners across the SEC Evaluate management challenges, identified deficiencies, significant deficiencies, and material weaknesses and assist with strategic for remediation Support the Entity Level Control Assessment Develop and Support other SEC Operational Risk Program activities as requested Participate in planning/scoping/methodology development
Experience Requirements: 5+ years of Federal Government management assurance (MA), internal controls experience, including OMB Circular A-123, Federal Managers Financial Integrity Act (FMFIA), and GAO guidance on Internal Controls 5+ years of accounting and/or audit experience 5+ years of Enterprise Risk Management and/or Enterprise Operational Risk Management Experience
Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Government Audit Professional (CGAP) Preferred
