Job Title: HVAC Mechanic

Job Summary: EMCOR Government Services seeks a HVAC Mechanic with a HVAC Master or Journeyman license in at least one State (Md. Or DC) and a CFC Universal certificate in Washington, DC. The location is metro accessible.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Installs, services and repairs environment-control systems in commercial buildings, utilizing knowledge of refrigeration theory, pipefitting and structural layout.

  • Mounts compressor and condenser units on platforms or floor using hand tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications,

  •  Installs, services, and maintains environmental equipment/control systems.

  • Assist estimators with HVAC layout with in building environment.

  • Seek out and correct potential problems before they occur.
  • Qualifications:

  • HVAC Master or Journeyman license in at least one State (Md. Or DC).
  • Formal apprenticeship with 4 or more years of training.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Journeyman in servicing and repair of equipment.
  • CFC Universal certificate.
  • Siemens Apogee Factory training, JCI Metasys Factory Training
  • Must be familiar with Screw Type and Reciprocating Chiller
  • Must have extensive knowledge of packaged direct expansion units, split systems, chilled water piping systems, DDC, pneumatic, and electric controls
  • Must have good trouble shooting skills with electrical circuits/components for refrigeration equipment and refrigerate piping systems.
  • Must be able to read both ladder and line wiring diagrams.
  •  Must be able to communicate, work well with customers/co-workers, and handle being under pressure at times.
  • Must have good organizational skills with completing paper work and managing refrigeration/parts inventory.
  • Must have average or better skill level with rigging, handling, and moving equipment.
  • Must currently have or be able to obtain a L Level security clearance
  • Must be able to pass a background check including a drug test
