MetroStar Systems is looking for a Business Development Director to expand and grow our Defense and Intel portfolio with a particular focus on the U.S. Army. The successful candidate will conduct business development and capture simultaneously across 2-3 large ($30M+) solicitations per Fiscal Year (FY). Our ideal candidate is able to develop account plans, establish customer contacts, and support proposals processes and capture activities.

  • Fostered relationships across the Army to include deep relationships across Army PEO EIS and Army Cyber
  • A keen focus on closing deals and how your day-to-day business development activities affect the bottom line and support strategic growth initiatives,
  • You'll love our position if you have:

  • 7+ years of strong leadership, teamwork, interpersonal skills and experience managing multiple business development efforts and crafting capture plans
  • Proven relationships within the DoD (including deep relationships within the Army), and have worked in a capacity for the Department of Defense and/or Army in the past 5 years
  • An excellent understanding of government procurement and Federal contracts, regulations, procedures, and operations
  • A passion for problem solving and using emerging technologies to meet client requirements
  • The ability to travel to other U.S. cities as required to conduct capture activities, and foster relationships 
  • During a typical day you will:

  • Proactively identify new business opportunities within the Defense/Army market and qualify opportunities in alignment with MetroStar’s Practice Areas and Solutions
  • Develop relationships with GS-13 and above levels across DoD and Army
  • Analyze the market, public domain, and other resources to identify leads and develop capture plans
  • Participate in, and represent MetroStar and our capabilities at industry groups and conferences
  • Support responses to Requests for Proposal (RFP) as well as Requests for Information (RFI)
  • Provide weekly reporting and analysis of the business development pipeline (housed in CRM) and pitch new deals and strategies to strengthen the pipeline
  • Develop, present, and own a sales/account plan, which aligns the leadership and support teams in order to ensure success
